Picasso, Flamenco, sherry, tapas and bullfighting all come from here and give the region character. The beautiful mountains are home to the Pueblos Blancos, such as Ronda or Medina-Sidona, reputedly the oldest city in Europe. Or visit Jerez and tour one of the many sherry producers, and perhaps historic Cadiz with its fascinating old town. Culture of a different kind can be found in Gibraltar, home to the famous Barbary apes, red phone boxes and pints of bitter. Africa is so close you can almost touch it, and a day trip to Tangier is certainly within reach!

A longer stay on the coast, with a stop-over in Seville could be just perfect!
